New for May 2014. The Horton Custom 40. I have done a few Hiwatt style amps for quite a few years as custom orders but I think it is so good I have to offer it to everyone else. It IS a Hiwatt type circuit, but instead of the normal and brilliant inputs, I split the difference and offer only 1 input which is a happy medium between the 2. Chassis only, you supply tubes.
This is at least 40W from a pair of KT66's. Small signal tubes are 2 x 12AX7 and a 12AT7. On the original Hiwatt amps, I thought the brillant channel was just too bright, and the normal channel just hair too dark. This 1-input amp is midway between the 2 original inputs. It's a great amp.
